History
The LEO award was instituted at the CIRP Conference on Life Cycle Engineering in Braunschweig. It shows a red lion on a transparent base, in which the award winner's name gets engraved. On the one hand, the award corresponds to the symbol of the city of Braunschweig – a lion (the symbol of the city's founder Henry the Lion). On the other hand, it relates to the first name of Leo Alting (one of the fathers of the CIRP Conference on Life Cycle Engineering). The prize will be given at every annual CIRP Conference on Life Cycle Engineering and will be donated to upcoming organizers of the CIRP Conference on Life Cycle Engineering by the Technische Universität Braunschweig.
